On July 10th there is a secret Republican leadership immigration meeting behind closed doors in the House.
John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Trey Gowdy (Sub Committee on Immigration), and Bob Goodlatte (Judiciary Chairman) are scheduled to speak first. Afterwards, there is an Open-Mic where any member can speak about immigration and the senate’s amnesty bill.
Is this the moment that Rep. Paul Ryan becomes The Marco Rubio of the House?
All eyes are on Speaker John Boehner‘s every move. The House now has the Senates’
Amnesty Bill Immigration Reform Bill.
What will Speaker Boehner do?
“House Speaker John Boehner said Thursday that he does not plan to bring any immigration bill — even a House-Senate compromise — to the House floor without a majority of Republicans supporting it“
If he is not bluffing, everything might be ok, and the House of Representatives will have done their job by providing the checks and balances this country’s foundation depends upon.
If Speaker Boehner is
lying bluffing we are screwed:
On one hand…on the other hand, grassroots volunteers will take care of
him things in the 2014 midterms.
Real Immigration Reform can only be done when America has both a House and a Senate that puts all Americans first.
Real Immigration Reform can only be done after both the 2014 midterms, when grassroots volunteers send congress more reinforcements the way we did in 2010 and 2012, and after the 2016 general election when Americans again send more reinforcements.
(And, of course, after we repeal and replace Barack Hussein Obama with a president who takes serious issues…well…seriously)
Here are Speaker Boehner’s own words:
“For any legislation — including the conference report — to pass the House it’s going to have to be a bill that has the support of the majority of our members”
“The House is not going to take up and vote on whatever the Senate passes. We’re going to do our own bill”
“It’ll be legislation that reflects the will of our majority and the will of the American people”
It is up to the us, the concerned citizens of this country, to hold Speaker Boehner accountable for his own words and promises to the American people. The Speaker clearly stated that any House Immigration Bill will reflect the will of the Houses’ majority AND the will of the American people.
Will House Republicans hide behind Paul Ryan the way Senate Republicans hid behind Senator Rubio?
But Ryan said a Republican-backed amendment to the Senate bill to boost security on the U.S.-Mexico border improves the chances that the House and Senate could ultimately agree on a compromise version of the legislation.
The amendment “brings the Senate bill closer to the House’s position and that gives me the belief that we have a better chance at getting this law fixed at the end,” he said.
Representative Ryan’s comments are not only very concerning, his comments directly conflict the promises of Speaker Boehner.
Amnesty is not the will of the American people:
Any compromise in the House is not compromise, it is capitulation!
It was the hard work of grassroots volunteers that gave Speaker Boehner, not only his speakership but also, the GOP majority in the US House of Representatives (Both in 2010, and then again in 2012). Speaker Boehner enjoys using the phrase: The People’s House.
Now is the time for all concerned Americans to remind the speaker that it is deeds, not words that the will of the American people (his words) expect to be reflected in any legislation the US House of Representatives considers on Immigration Reform.
Both Speaker Boehner and Rep. Paul Ryan need to hear from us.
Contacting our Senators and House Representatives does work.
Earlier this year the Gun Grabbing Bill was completely stopped simply because 1,000′s of concerned citizens burned up the phone lines reminding our Reps. who they work for. Enraged at the very concept that our Reps. were even considering trampling upon our 2nd Amendment Rights, 1000′s of concerned citizens took matters into our own hands and picked up the telephone and sent emails.
Don’t let anyone tell you that calling and contacting our Reps does not work. It can work, it has worked, and it must work again.
There are several ways to contact Speaker John Boehner.
We can use this fast and easy Email form HERE:
And we can call Speaker Boehner:
Office of the Speaker Phone: (202) 225-0600
A lot of time phone lines in DC can be hard to get through to. Here are two of Speaker Boehner’s district offices to call if the DC office lines are busy.
Butler County: (513) 779-5400
Miami County: (937) 339-1524
There are also several ways to call Rep. Paul Ryan:
DC Office: (202) 225-3031
Janesville: (608) 752-4050
Kenosha: (262) 654-1901
Racine: (262) 654-1901
DC consultants are telling Republican leadership they must pass amnesty in order to win future elections.
Who do our representatives take their orders from? DC consultants or us?
Our work continues.
