Fellow concerned citizens,
Are we going to allow the
Amnesty Immigration Bill to pass? Have we given up?
It really is up to us, not to those who are voting on it in the DC bubble. They work for us. We hire them and we fire them. Every once in a while they need to be reminded about that.
(How to contact you Senator – There is also easy to follow 411 at the end of the post too!)
If this bill passes we have nobody to blame but ourselves. Or perhaps lack of ourselves is a better way to put it. Yesterday I was discussing the bill with a friend here in Los Angeles who said to me, “The Democrats won’t allow the bill to be killed in the Senate”.
Really? The Democrats won’t allow?
That’s not how it works. Bills are put forth for a vote.
There are currently 54 Democrat Senators who will more than likely all vote YES. Assuming that Senators Rubio, Flake, Ayotte, McCain, and Graham all vote YES that brings the tally to 59. We can all guess that Senator Susan Collins and Senator
Lena JaBrowski Lisa Murkowski will jump at the chance to prove their 100% completely sincere moderate bipartisan sensibilities.
There you go, that would be 60 votes and the bill would then proceed to the House.
UPDATE: Here’s a little gem from The Hill claiming 70 votes are possibly on the horizon:
“I think there’s a great possibility of bringing on 15 Republicans and, candidly, it’s possible that as this moves along, more as people look at it,” said Corker.
A senior Republican lawmaker who has been an outspoken critic of the 1,000-plus page Senate bill said 10 to 12 Republicans in addition to the four members of the Gang of Eight could ultimately vote for the bill.
But do these hypotheticals (even probabilities) mean we should do nothing?
On Wednesday American Grizzlies United member Christopher hand delivered letters to Senators all day.
Here is a copy of Christopher’s heartfelt letter to Senator Kelly Ayotte: HERE
We can very easily telephone the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. An operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you ask for. Or just look at the bottom of this post and find the direct phone numbers to both the Senators
Versailles office Washington DC office and the phone numbers to the local offices in their states. Oftentimes, it is much easier to get through to their local office. If you have unlimited calls on your cell phone, now would be a good time to use them.
Be polite, but tell them what you think. Respectfully speak your mind. These Senators work for us.
No matter what anyone tells you making calls does make a difference. The Obama Gun Grabbing Bill was completely killed because hundreds of thousands of concerned citizens called Senators and gave them a piece of their mind. This worked in 2006 and it can work again.
President Reagan was promised border security from the Democrats after Amnesty was given in the 1980′s. President Reagan fulfilled his promise. The Democrats did not. Why should we believe them now? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Regardless of the outcome of the Senate’s:
Amnesty = First and Border Security = Never Bill, American Grizzlies United will be introducing more things we can do to stop this bill from adding to our country’s laundry list of problems.
In the meantime, let’s tell our employees in the U.S. Senate who we hired how we feel!
Here are the phone numbers for Senator Marco Rubio:

Here are the phone numbers for Senator Kelly Ayotte:

It makes absolutely no difference if you live in these states or not. Remind the senatorial aides that in today’s social media political world, people donate money across state lines, make phone calls on behalf of Senatorial Candidates across state lines, engage in Twitter Storms across state lines, contribute to New Media and Citizen Journalism across state lines, and can basically make or break a candidates campaign from across state lines.
Tell the Senators that:
– Immigration Reform is a very serious issue and Americans deserve it to be done correctly.
– We want border security first.
– No fence, no deal.
– Congress tried legalization first/border security later in the 1980′s, and President Regan was lied to by the Democrats, and the border was never secured even though he was promised it would be secured.
– We will not accept Amnesty again without verified border security.
– We will only accept legal immigration.
– We want the border to be verified as secure by both the Government Accountability Office AND the Governors of the states on the border.
– Once this has been 100% accomplished and verified. We will accept appropriate and fair legislation debate about introducing work programs and a reasonable pathway to citizenship.
Stay tuned for more…
Our work continues.
