Governor Palin met with Ambassador Petr Kolar of the Czech Republic in early July during the Ambassador’s visit to Alaska. While in Alaska, the Ambassador publicly presented a Czech Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs promotion to Alaskan Frank Nosek who has served as Honorary Consul for almost ten years. Mr. Nosek will now be recognized as an Honorary Consul General of the Czech Republic. The Governor took the opportunity to thank Mr. Nosek for the work he does to further positive international relations for the State. As part of her gubernatorial duties, Governor Palin routinely meets with foreign dignitaries — a significant accomplishment governors of few states can claim. Complete details on her international trade accomplishments are available here: http://www.gov.state.ak.us/trade/ and will soon be posted in this blog’s 2009 Master List of Accomplishments, which is still being edited.
