Sarah Palin made her first appearance on Fox News’ “On The Record” Since December 19 Monday night, telling host Greta Van Susteren that the IRS scandal is a “circus,” with President Obama as the “ringleader.”
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin also voiced her opinion that Darrell Issa’s House Oversight and Government Reform Committee “absolutely” should call Lois Lerner back to testify, and the members should charge her with contempt if she continues to refuse to answer their questions. She said that she found it “amazing” that Lerner continues to get paid while she is on leave and “not doing a lick of work.” The former Alaska governor said that if Congress cannot get Lerner to answer questions, then a special prosecutor should be appointed.
Gov. Palin also expressed her disappointment with the first family on a $100 million Africa vacation at the same time that spending cuts are affecting our military. She said that the troops should be allowed to have patriotic celebrations & fireworks displays, and said that was a small price for the government to pay its soldiers who are willing to die to defend the nation.
Gov. Palin said our soldiers were not even getting all the latest military hardware they need to defend themselves in the Middle East, adding that some of the equipment was surplus left over from the Vietnam War. She said she hoped that the private sector would step up and help the soldiers enjoy a proper Independence Day celebration.
