Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin tonight said she has “no regrets” about not seeking the 2012 GOP nomination and “can shake it up better from outside with Peter Schweizer and my PAC” in a two-segment interview on Sean Hannity’s TV show from her home in Wasilla, Alaska. Gov. Palin would not endorse a particular candidate, however, she said the GOP nomination will be “Romney versus the non-Romney,” with various candidates shifting front-runner position as the “non-Romney.” Gov. Palin was seated by her fireplace which was operating, giving the feeling of a Fireside Chat.
Gov. Palin said it is very important that all the candidates be vetted so that the mistake that led to Obama’s election would not be repeated. She also said voters should not be distracted with minor issues and gaffes that may reflect the idiosyncrasies of candidates running for office.
When asked about Newt Gingrich’s rise in the polls, Gov. Palin said she was not surprised since “he’s done so well in debates and balanced budgets during the Clinton Administration,” but advised that Gingrich and all the other candidates should read Peter Schweizer’s Throw Them All Out. About Romney, Gov. Palin said he has six years of experience as a candidate and has held steady with his numbers, which rest at 22%. She cautioned that the GOP nominee will have have a formidable foe with Obama who will have a $1 billion war chest and 90% of the lamestream media on his side.
Gov. Palin expressed her outrage at the violence being committed by Occupy protesters and the support of these protesters by Obama, Biden, and Pelosi. “These folks are ill-informed…misguided. I think it’s atrocious what’s going on,” she said. Gov. Palin agreed with Hannity that Obama has inspired the protesters. “The Office of the Presidency has the power of word. This is getting out of control, this Occupy Wall Street, these shenanigans,” Gov. Palin said. “He’ll lecture us on words we should use. This is actual violence!”
Occupy “could become a campaign issue. The hypocrisy is glaring. Obama is perpetuating class warfare.” Gov. Palin said the protesters should be angry about things like Solyndra, and crony capitalism. They should be directing their anger to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., she said. “For shame they are not angry at what is going on. Peter Schweizer is revealing graft, corruption. We cannot afford afford to continue this…our country is going bankrupt,” she said.
“2012 is important not just for the Presidency, but the House and 33 Senate seats, and not just American Exceptionalism, but ethics,” Gov. Palin said.

Everything she says here I agree with……..except that she can be most effective working behind the scenes. I still strongly feel that she is the only person in America with the resume and the talent and know how to do everything that needs to be done, and to do this most effectively she needs to be the GOP frontrunner already. Where am I going wrong here? Anyone????
Julie,
My heart agrees with you. But, we have to accept reality. This is her decision and she used her professional judgment in forming it.Could it change? Absolutely. But, if it does, it will be because she came to the conclusion herself, not because we tried to force the issue. The best thing we can do now is simply let Sarah be Sarah.
Ron,
Thanks for the prudent advice to Julie (whom I strongly agree with)…it applies to me as well.
Intellectually, I understand Sarah's decision. However, she is such an obvious choice for the presidency, especially when compared with the Republican "talent pool", that her absence from the 2012 race still grates on my nerves; in truth, I fear for my country.
This is somewhat short-sighted on my part (not the fear, but doubting Sarah's decision), and that's why your advice is appreciated; it helps bring the thought process back into perspective.
As diligently as I study, analyze, and research what's happening to our country politically, economically, and socially, Sarah probably understands all that I've digested, and more.
She's doing what she believes is best for the U.S.A., based upon her unique vantage point and experiences; it's up to us to trust her judgement. I'm not prognosticating, but considering the overall mood of the country, I do believe it's possible for Sarah to end up in the presidency in 2012, if enough twists and turns take place…very few conservatives appear interested in Romney gaining the nomination.
Thanks again for all of your hard work over the past three years, as well as your continued efforts such as "US for Palin". Cheers!
Sandy,
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. They're very much appreciated.
The best thing we can do is wait, watch and monitor. If Gov. Palin decides a reconsidered run, she will do it on her own. I've never gone wrong following her lead. I have gone wrong when I got cocky and over-confident. If deferring to Gov. Palin's professional judgment was right for three years, I cannot fathom why now we should deviate from that. I am pleased with my decision to not publicly endorse a candidate unless and until Gov. Palin does. The whole matter of following Sarah's lead aside, I do not need the drama of partisan bickering and destroyed relationships. Gov. Palin has been my President for three years now. Nothing's changed except that she's not pursuing the formal title. If I can have her as my President with Obama holding the actual title, I can keep her as my President with one of these candidates holding the formal title – even as I go and vote for one of them on April 24, 2012, which is New York's primary. No skin off my back either way.
Rest assured that US for Palin will be here fulfilling our mission, which is: to support and promote Gov. Palin, her family, products, and organizations; and to provide Palin-related news, and analysis from Reagan-Conservative, feminism, and leadership views. Our mission has not changed and will not change.
