Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin today explained to over 10,000 attendees of the Extraordinary Women Conference in Lynchburg, VA why she chose to place family ahead of political ambition, Sally Delta, ABC 13 reported. Gov. Palin reinforced her commitment to stay in politics and effectuate reform without an official title.
Gov. Palin said her years under the bright lights took their toll on her family and she wanted to re-establish normalcy in their lives. Team Sarah member Carolyn Dixon reported that she received a paraphrase in which Gov. Palin allegedly said, “you put your trust in me to run for president but you don’t trust me when I seek God’s direction on whether to run or not, at this time” about supporters who exploded in anger at her over the decision.
Many in the sold-out audience supported Gov. Palin’s decision and agreed with it and many said she was the highlight of the entire day’s event.

Trust no one completely but God directly.
Jesus blessed those who would even leave family (in many cases) for His sake. That is not to judge Sarah Palin, but to emphasize priority. Many have given their lives to preserve America and it's Popular Sovereignty and nationhood and have thus left children permanently.
Children under the limelight, by comparison?
God expects leaders to have control of their families. It's not like we are in a civil war – not yet, anyway. Do you have any idea how hard it would be to have hate and threats over you and your children every day. The media is on the devil's side and she has to consider her precious children and her marriage. I always knew and prayed that she would listen to God, and I'm sure that she has. Herman Cain or even Santorum or Newt will be able to do the job that Sarah could do. We are blessed with a few good candidates. I thank God that Sarah listened to God and not people.
I don't think any of the candidates are viable substitutes for Sarah for varying reasons. For my part, I won't volunteer for any of them or donate to any of them. I will vote for the GOP nominee in November – or more rather – vote against Obama.
Ron, I think you're exactly right. There's no substitute for Sarah; not even close. In my opinion, she is the only Reaganesque conservative of prominence on our national political stage, and she has the record to prove it.
I trust her decision completely…she has already given so much, and she will continue to be a major player in helping to direct the political future of our country. But her sense of moral obligation to her family is more important: as she eloquently summed up her priorities, "God, family, country." How could it be otherwise?
Personally, I find it difficult to imagine how anyone would have been able to summon the inner strength and courage to handle such an incomprehensible amount of malicious abuse from the mainstream media, democrats, RINO's, and political pundits of all stripes. The intensity of their venomous tirades and abject lies has been unprecedented, and undoubtedly took a tremendous toll.
Additionally, I would like to say "thank you", Ron, for all of your dedication and hard work in promoting Gov. Palin for President in 2012 during the run-up to her decision. There's no doubt for me that she will continue to be a guiding conservative influence for America in the present and near-term. As for the future, there are infinite possibilities.
I'm saddened that an "allegedly said" comment was passed on here. The comment is uncharacteristic of Sarah and too easily responded with,"but you lost my trust when you made that decision." I submit his is just another attempt to smear Sarah. Shame!
I used the word allegedly, because I have no video or transcript to verify it. But, a Team Sarah member was at the event and heard it.
Thank you for passing along the "alleged" comment by Sarah! I hope she will post it on her FB page. It is exactly what I have posted on some new FB pages that have cropped up wanting to badger her into re-considering her decision. If we believe she is a woman of integrity, then we need to trust her at her word. She obviously took her time to pray and discuss her decision with her family…now we should support her in whatever she pursues. She and her family have survived and conquered so many personal and financial attacks…the type that would have had most of us running for cover…Let's give Sarah and her family what they need: time, space to become what God has ordained for them, financial recovery, and opportunities to help the United States change direction and recover from the disastrous socialist policies that the Liberals have instituted. I, for one, support Sarah…in whatever she decided to pursue.
The ideal would have been for her to say she was NOT running until she made the decision. Instead, she sent all sorts of clues to us and we spent our money, our time and our credibility supporting her. I don't begrudge her NOT running, what I begrudge her is her encouragement to all of us who believed in her and all the people who actually altered their lives because they thought they could trust her. Now I am convinced that Obama will win.
We are the ones who have been egging her on for three years to run. Sarah did not encourage or discourage us one way or the other. I am in fact convinced she was going to run until something changed.
