On February 20, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Lt. Governor Sean Parnell, and Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse flew from Wasilla Municipal Airport to Russian Mission and Marshall to deliver boxes of food to needy families there (Hopkins, 2009, ¶1-3). This isolated and remote area of western Alaska, known as “the villages” has been suffering a food and fuel crisis, exacerbated by a poor salmon fishing season and expensive gasoline (Hopkins, 2009, ¶3). Every family in Russian Mission will receive a 44-pound box of food and supplies. The Samaritan’s Purse effort will provide 40,000 pounds of donations to these distressed communities (Hopkins, 2009, ¶3).

Commentary
As noted in the prior entry on this subject, Governor Palin could have attended three events that would have positioned her well for a presidential run or allowed her to rack up political points. Most people would have done things like attend the National Governors Association meeting, CPAC, and other meetings to rub elbows with the elites.
Governor Palin doesn’t just speak about working with a servant’s heart. She actually works with a servant’s heart and the soul of an angel.
