Sarah Palin Delivers The Real State Of The Union Address

by gary on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 14:46 EST

He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient

–Article II Section 3, United States Constitution.

On the eve of Barack Obama’s big State of the Union address, Sarah Palin brutally assesses the President and issues him a challenge:

Mr. President: Please Try, “I’m Listening, People,” Instead of “Listen Up, People!

We’ve now seen three landslide Republican victories in three states that President Obama carried in 2008. From the tea parties to the town halls to the Massachusetts Miracle, Americans have tried to make their opposition to Washington’s big government agenda loud and clear. But the President has decided that this current discontent isn’t his fault, it’s ours. He seems to think we just don’t understand what’s going on because he hasn’t had the chance – in his 411 speeches and 158 interviews last year – to adequately explain his policies to us.

Instead of sensibly telling the American people, “I’m listening,” the president is saying, “Listen up, people!” This approach is precisely the reason people are upset with Washington. Americans understand the president’s policies. We just don’t agree with them. But the president has refused to shift focus and come around to the center from the far left. Instead he and his old campaign advisers are regrouping to put a new spin on the same old agenda for 2010.

Americans aren’t looking for more political strategists. We’re looking for real leadership that listens and delivers results. The president’s former campaign adviser is now calling on supporters to “get on the same page,” but what’s on that page? He claims that the president is “resolved” to “keep fighting for” his agenda, but we’ve already seen what that government-growth agenda involves, and frankly the hype doesn’t give us much hope. Real health care reform requires a free market approach; real job creation involves incentivizing, not punishing, the job-creators; reining in the “big banks” means ending bailouts; and stopping “the undue influence of lobbyists” means not cutting deals with them behind closed doors.

Instead of real leadership, though, we’ve had broken promises and backroom deals. One of the worst: candidate Obama promised to go through the federal budget “with a scalpel,” but President Obama spent four times more than his predecessor. Want more? Candidate Obama promised that lobbyists “won’t find a job in my White House,” but President Obama gave at least a dozen former lobbyists top administration jobs. Candidate Obama promised us that we could view his health care deliberations openly and honestly on C-SPAN, but President Obama cut deals behind closed doors with industry lobbyists. Candidate Obama promised us that we would have at least five days to read all major legislation, but President Obama rushed through bills before members of Congress could even read them.

Candidate Obama promised us that his economic stimulus package would be targeted and pork-free, but President Obama signed a stimulus bill loaded with pork and goodies for corporate cronies. Candidate Obama railed against Wall Street greed, but President Obama cozied up to bankers as he extended and expanded their bailouts. Candidate Obama promised us that for “Every dollar that I’ve proposed [in spending], I’ve proposed an additional cut so that it matches.” We’re still waiting to see how President Obama will cut spending to match the trillion he’s spent.

More than anything, Americans were promised jobs, but the president’s stimulus package has failed to stem our rising unemployment rate. Maybe it was unfair to expect that an administration with so little private sector experience would understand something about job creation. How many Obama Administration officials have ever had to make a payroll or craft a business plan in the private sector? How many have had to worry about not having the resources to invest and expand? The president’s big government policies have made hiring a new employee a difficult commitment for employers to make. Ask yourself if the Obama Administration has done anything to make it easier for employers to hire. Have they given us any reassurance that the president will keep taxes low and not impose expensive new regulations?

Candidate Obama over-promised; President Obama has under-delivered. We understand you, Mr. President. We’ve listened to you again and again. We ask that you now listen to the American people.

- Sarah Palin

What else really needs to be said. What we are witnessing here is a true American Statesman schooling a half-wit poseur. This is what real leadership is all about.

I am sad. I am sad for America. I am sad you are not our President when we need you soo much. Tears Friend.

Jim January 26, 2010 at 19:03

Way to go Sarah! Get that dumb Odumbo[Obama] You are right. He is no leader. I am still laughing at how you went after him. I think you would make a great President!

George Thompson January 26, 2010 at 19:26

Keep after Obama, Sara because the goverment run media won't hold him accountable!

Gary Trost January 26, 2010 at 19:41

Go Sarah —-Go!!! It is a Palin/Romney ticket in 2012. The winning combination.

I am still wondering what happened to that 8% unemployment figure. That pesky little figure.

Consider this: Oh, what a web we weave……………by President Obama. What a mess that has been created since President Obama took office. This mess was not left by Bush. What a challenge for VP Romney. But, he can handle it.

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 01:52

I'm not so sure that Romney would be an ideal partner for Gov. Palin. Romney Care is essentially Obama Care Lite. And Romney's people right now are not to friendly towards Gov. Palin, because he wants to run for POTUS himself in 2012.

Lindsey January 27, 2010 at 07:45

Romney is not the way to go at all! The reason Sarah would make a better candidate for pressy than most we have seen in the last…I will say 4 elections…is because she is what you call an "unwilling participant". She just can't sit by and watch the government put us in the crapper. Though perhaps not the brightest bulb on the tree 100% of the time, in the end she is out for the people like our founding fathers.

If she were to run for pressy she would have to find someone like her, and unwilling participant. Someone who, when asked to take the cup, will reluctantly do so for the better of the people…like our founding fathers had done.

Diana Petersen January 26, 2010 at 19:45

I like what Sarah has to say but I take offense to the neglect of your web developer for refusing to accept a web page should be no wider than 800 pixels for a multitude of reasons.

Forcing me to open my browser to full screen just to view this site is without a doubt the rudest thing I have run into on the internet in months.

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 01:50

Diana,

Thank you for the feedback on the site. I'll take your thoughts into consideration as I continue to work on the site. For now, the site is sized for a 1340 or wider screen.

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 19:53

I have re-sized the US 4 Palin site down from its original width of 1340 px to 960 px. I was spoiled by the 22-inch wide screen and the huge resolution I have, and did not take into consideration that most of the world is still on 1024 x 768. Constricting the width to 800 as you suggested would not work well with a three-column layout, though with two columns it would work fine. The 960 width is becoming a de facto standard today – most people are on 1024 x 768 now, so I think this is a good number to work with – far better than the 1340.

There is still some tweaking to do, but I appreciate your feedback. The original configuration defeated the purpose of having a right-hand sidebar in the first instance.

Bill Clinton January 27, 2010 at 06:41

Rudest thing you've run into in months? LOL

You dont get around very often do you?

LOL

P.S. LOL

Ted Kubichek January 26, 2010 at 20:17

Good article. I still fail to hear the truth of this crisis from any that have enough power to be heard. It sure isn't the public, the common x-worker. Bottem line this crisis is due to the enormous amount of greed with its overwhelming baggage "arrogance and corruption" has surpassed what the economy can absorb and yet prosper. Greed which is nearly throughout our economy. I'm not sure as to why I'm not hearing this, other than some other commoners that I talk to of this, and most all agree with what I'm saying. Is it that those that have the power to be heard, feel it would be the end of there political desires or careers. The money from the greed mongerers would cease and bosses would see to it there career/job ruined. Both political parties are in for a rude awakening come fall, there both out of touch. Frankly both are in the mentality of greed.

Marcus Wilbanks January 26, 2010 at 20:36

Wow! Very good and to the point. Democrats hate Sarah because they are so afraid of the fact that she could be the flip side of the Obama mania of the last election. God I hope so. Anything but Obama and his band of absolute idiots. I have more faith in the American people than the American government. So does Sarah Palin.

Lindsey January 27, 2010 at 07:47

Democrats don't hate her…Progressives do. We all gotta get beyond the stereotype of Democrats vs. Republicans. In actuality is more like Democracy vs. Progressives and that can span Dems or Repubs.

Gene Kinnick January 26, 2010 at 21:07

Thank you Governor Palin! Once again you have expressed the things the majority of the rest of us in this country would like to say to this president, his advisers, …and this Congress. We are so very frustrated to find all of our avenues of approach to our government to speak our concerns and ideas are blocked by government representatives who refuse to listen to us or answer our questions, and that includes members of Congress as well as the president. We feel un-represented (but not by our Representative, Doc Hastings …he's been great!), and we feel as if we are being marched into a place we have no desire to be. This is OUR country. It was built on firm foundations by very dedicated and knowledgeable people who understood what it would take to build, to protect, and to defend our freedom, and they also understood the risks and spelled them out for us. We were properly warned of the consequences of a government allowed to expand and overshadow the citizenry and its wishes, and that our government should fear the people. It should never be that the people should fear the government, and that's where we seem to be going if this government continues on its present course. That form of government too easily reverts to tyranny. It is up to all American citizens to show unity and resolve to make sure that the power of government remains with We the People, and that OUR Constitution is never ignored, never hidden away, never dismantled, and never disrespected. The power of OUR government comes from us, by us and for us, and NEVER …according to OUR Constitution …should governmental power be forced upon us, especially through the kinds of legislation our current elected government officials have been crafting behind closed doors in language even lawyers cannot read and understand in 2,000 page bills. The people we elected to be our servants seem to have forgotten that OUR Constitution is our guide. Dictatorial powers and outright tyranny are not granted therein.

Thank you for being here when we need you the most, and may god Bless you and your family as you work with us to help restore confidence in our government and protect our freedom.

[I have just finished reading your book, loved it, and my wife is ready to begin. thanks!]

Well I don't know where to start and what I would say would be so full of well that is another word. We the people are tired of our government telling us we are stupid and not just the president it's all the way down the ladder. We are tired of you making us into criminals with your stupid laws that the insurance industry seems to make you do. The insurance indusustry seems to own you and in turn us. We the people want this stupid drug war stopped not tomorrow not the day after or even the week, month or year we want it now period. Where is the birth certificate at and where are all of the other things that all the rest of the presidents had to produce when ask for. This person should not be in that office and should be impeached unless he produces all of the documents that we the people have ask for and that is all there is to it.

michelle January 27, 2010 at 06:17

"candidate Obama promised to go through the federal budget 'with a scalpel,' but President Obama spent four times more than his predecessor"

AND HE DID THIS IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR. HE ACTUALLY SPENT MORE THAN BUSH WITHIN HIS FIRST 100.

Dennis January 26, 2010 at 22:15

Who-ah!!! Great article Gary! I'm thankful some one knows how to put it into words. You said it all Sarah. I knew in my heart she was a good one despite the comments on the media and the politicians election put downs.

mahesh manelkar January 26, 2010 at 22:47

Sarah Palin or Hillary Clinton should have been the president in the 1st place

Shark January 26, 2010 at 22:50

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo…McCain had the right idea…he just lacked the people, time and the knowledge to utilize Ms. Palin's strength.

She has a down home sense of logic about her that comes from dealing with people…real people…not special interest buffoons.

Her way with words is simply understood…not because she or her supporters are simple…however, because she speaks to the middle of the class…as it were.

She speaks and listens to the people…that is her strength…she listens.

She prays for those who would do her harm…because that is the conviction of her faith.

And, her detractors would do her serious harm if she were a phoney…as she is not…they fear her…hence, the gossip-mongering, the hate-mongering and the belittling of her family.

She is a strong woman who has a remarkable relationship with her husband…it strongly appears that oaths mean something to them…he does not have a wondering eye…no, he respects his wife and does not use her as a pon for his personal advancement.

All in all…she in a force to be reckoned with…and, would make a great leader of this Country and the free world.

She is blessed…and, so are we for knowing her!

Bill Whitfield January 26, 2010 at 23:39

Sarah makes more sense than the Whole Legion of Demon Party put together! In the last year, Obama has been America's Greatest Enemy. Shunning your Allies and Groveling before our Adversaries! Obama is the Worst Excuse of a Pontus America has ever seen. What really cracks me up is when the Demons start talking about Ms Palin's experience. She was governer of Alaska, did a fantastic job, and is still doing a great job for America. What experience has Obama had? He has been president one year and still has no idea what he is doing. Obama will go down in History as being the most Corrupt, DisHonest, and Worst President America has ever known, beating Jimah Carter out of 1st Place!

Jerry Harder January 26, 2010 at 23:51

I agree whit what you said, Sarah, and it easy to find fault. Why not stop the negative comments on both sides and build this country back to the strongest nation in the world. We need to fix the the broken sewers, bridges, roads and people in this country. We need to invest in our country first then help the rest of the world. We need leaders that will earn respect and be re-elected by the honest work they do to make this country a place that we look forward to leaving to our children. Sarah can you do what I've talked about, will you be proud of the country that you leave to your children?

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 01:56

Governor Palin has done exactly what you describe on a smaller scale in Alaska. You need to take into consideration; however, what happens at the municipal, state and Federal levels. POTUS does not worry about broken sewers, bridges, and roads (except for approving Interstate Highway Funding). Those items are handled by states' governors and city mayors — and Sarah Palin as Mayor of Wasilla and Governor of Alaska did tend to those issues and many, more.

As POTUS; however, Sarah Palin would leave our country a place we could leave our children to the extent made possible by the jurisdiction of her office.

Colleen January 27, 2010 at 02:02

Dear Ms. Palin,

I'm sorry that you did not realize that the reason Mr. Obama (note I do not call him president, as it implies that he is a leader) has no clue what a union is, so how can he address the union. I have seen pictures of he and his wife putting their left hand over their heart. These people have no idea what America is about, at any level.

I think you will make a great president, look forward to voting for you..Take care and God bless you for standing up.

Lawrence Zimbelman January 27, 2010 at 02:09

She paints a pretty picture, but so did odumbo. In my opinion politicians cannot be belived any more. They have been feeding America lies for decades, getting our people killed and for what? Our money has been given to foreign countries while Americans are out of work, going hungry . . . actions speak louder then words, we've all learned that the hard way in the last year.

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 02:17

Lawrence,

I understand your skepticism. Governor Palin is a special case; however. She has a history of keeping her word. This is why her approval rating was over 80% in Alaska (till Obama's people started their nonsense). My authors and myself collectively spend about 200+ hours/week in her cause. We would not do this for someone we don't believe in. For my part, I never donated to a campaign, never partook in a campaign, never blogged, etc. till that day I heard Gov. Palin's voice on the radio.

Ralph Smith January 27, 2010 at 02:59

I agree whole heartedly with Sarah and yes she talks a spirited and patriotic "We the People" But so did Obama, that clown got everybody to ride his wagon of change that we have yet to see . So who's to say what forces are at work in Washington to sway even a President ! . Could this happen to Sarah if she was elected out next President??? My point here is the campaign trails are littered with promises and spirited talk and after its all over "We the People" stand back a year later after they're voted in with Egg on our faces and anger in our hearts . Wake up America if you keep choosing a president on talk and speeches then get ready for more disappointment . No I'm sorry America you have to dig deeper than that ………….

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 03:16

Ralph,

As with Lawrence, I understand your skepticism; however, Governor Palin has a track record that spans almost two decades of walking the walk. Her list of accomplishments for 2009 alone is something that seven governors in the state of NY could not achieve in 50 years. She did it in seven months. We're not doing this based on speeches, rhetoric, and talk.

Larry Tighe January 27, 2010 at 04:37

Sarah Palin is definately the person to lead the US out of the darkness created by both political parties.

GOOOH is the answer to replacing the prostitutes in Congress. Check their website, join the GOOOH revolution. LET'S SAVE OUR COUNTRY!

Donald Wyrick January 27, 2010 at 04:38

Right on Sarah,
I just that when you are elected you can correct all the many mistakes that have been made, and will continue to be made by this adminstration as they there are many. I will vote for you when you run in the next election, for sure.
GO SARAH!!!!

Doug January 27, 2010 at 04:45

Sarah Palin/Michelle Bachmann 2012. Imagine the rabid frothing that would induce among the liberals/socialists/communists. :D

Abraham Matamoros January 27, 2010 at 04:48

They say the head of the household is a man, but then that must mean the woman is the neck that turns the mans head. You "Sarah" can turn our heads in teh right direction

C. Thomas Hockenbury January 27, 2010 at 04:53

EVERYTHING OBAMA TOUCHES TURNS OUT BAD. YESTERDAY HE CALLED THE UNDEFEATED (# 1 team in the Nation) KENTUCKY WILCATS. TO THANK THEM FOR THEIR "HOOPS FOR HAITI" IN RAISING $1,000,000.00 FOR THE EATHQUAKE RELIEF.
THE UNDEFEATED # 1 TEAM IN THE NATION KENTUCKY WILDCATS LOST THEIR 1st GAME OF THEIR UNDEFEATED SEASON LAST NIGHT.
I THINK OBAMA BETTER JUST KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN.
SARAH PALIN FOR PRESIDENT 2012.

Stacey Shelton January 27, 2010 at 07:48

I agree with this blog.I felt Mr.Obama should stay outta sports(as well as healthcare and other personal aspects of our lives) period. He could have waited for another time to call at least.I feel he jinxed the wildcats, their heads weren't in the game and they sure weren't focused.Such a shame to c them fall, but refs weren't any help either.I have to say not everything bad that happens is his fault as alotta ppl proclaim. He is only a man not God! As for Mrs Palin being president, I'd luv 2 c a woman president but not so sure she's the right woman.Yes I am a Hillary supporter! Can ya tell?lol

Jan January 27, 2010 at 05:50

GO, SARAH, GO! WE'RE ALL CHEERING YOU ON! YOUR POLITICS ARE OPEN AND HONEST AND YOU'RE A TRUE AMERICAN! WE WANT TO LET YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOU STANDING UP AND FIGHTING FOR WHAT'S RIGHT FOR OUR GREAT COUNTRY. (THIS WAS WRITTEN BY JAN'S "CIRCLE OF SARAH FRIENDS")

Ben Tilther January 27, 2010 at 05:57

Go Sarah, GO! I could not have worded it any better! Where do I send my campaign contribution for Palin in 2012 !?!

Karen Thomas January 27, 2010 at 06:12

We needed you in 08,I hope 2012 is not too late.People need to find jobs. They are loosing their homes, forced into bankrupcy. Where are all of these jobs Obama has created, promised,my son needs one. He has been out of work for 7 months. He can"t feed his family, and nobody cares.

fuzzyecho January 27, 2010 at 06:12

taxes have not been raised for anyone. taxes have been cut. there are all sorts of tax breaks out there. interests rates are zero. this spring, construction of various segments of the national infrastructure will begin, creating jobs and making lives better with what they accomplish. affordable homes, bridge repair, waterway maintenance, water treatment plants…those are the projects that will affect my life and the life of my family a few states over. so don't tell me he's done nothing for the economy.

he said he would pass hate crimes legislation. you might not approve of that, but he said he would and he did.

he said he supported equal pay for equal work, and that was the focus of the very first bill he signed as president. you'd think your goddess woman sarah palin would at least have congratulated him for that.

but she has nothing good to say about him. her running mate seemed to have a human respect for him. i've always admired john mccain, and if things had played out differently, he might well have gotten my vote-i'm an independent voter and thinker. but his little song about "bomb, bomb, bomb iran" made my flesh crawl, and then there was the little matter of his running mate. john mccain isn't a spring chicken and has some health issues, and the vice president is just a heartbeat away from the presidency. there was no way i was going to contribute toward that possibility.

sarah palin could not handle an interview with katie couric. that didn't exactly fill me with confidence that she could handle the presidency. i was actually worried terribly for her health, to be honest. no, not her mental health, except in so much as too much stress on an older mother of a newborn wasn't really good for the nerves. she just looked exhausted. i felt for her, and gave her every chance. then she became a birther, and i gave her up for lost. someone who is incapable of critical thought will never get my vote. she is the empty suit, people. she is motivational. she is charismatic. and YES there is a place for sarah palin on the national stage…but it's not in the oval office.

she thinks with her emotions, and does not prepare for the future or appear to learn from the past. george w. bush thought with his emotions as well. he didn't prep for meetings. he flew by the seat of his pants. now, he often had killer instincts…but when he didn't, he would not learn from failure, and instead dug himself and the country deeper. palin and bush are both great people. but bush should not have been president. he wasn't suited for it, and neither is sarah palin.

colleen, you say you saw a picture of the president and the first lady with their left hands over their heart-that reallly should have been your first clue that you were looking at something that had been photoshopped or otherwise manipulated. give me a break.

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 08:22

Taxes have not been raised — YET.

There is nothing to commend Obama for. His "stimulus plan" has saddled future generations with crushing debt….not that Bush's TARP — the forerunner to this — was such a great idea either. His take-over of the auto and banking industries — nationalization of private business; his approach to national security; his attempt at taking over health care; his cap and tax proposal, which benefits only businesses trafficking in fraudulent "carbon credits"; and his arrogance all speak for themselves. Governor Palin aside, Obama's numbers are not too good. It took Bush almost two complete terms for his numbers to reach their poor levels. Obama's term is a little more than 25% finished and his numbers are fast approaching Bush's final numbers. There is nothing wrong with the American people and nothing wrong with what Governor Palin has said and done. The problem is not us and is not her. The problem is Obama and his leftist associates in both houses of Congress and in various regulatory agencies.

Greg Helbig January 27, 2010 at 06:21

Dear Ms Palin:

I am a registered independent, not a member of the "Independent Party", rather I am unaffiliated. I am writing this to you in the hope that it will help you understand the feelings a large segment of the populace has. I did not vote for your ticket in 2008, rather I voted third party. I did not vote for you and Mr McCain, not because of you, but because Mr McCain said nothing, NOTHING in his campaign. Americans need to be led. We need a leader who will lead us somewhere. Lead us to the Gates of Hell, just lead us!

Obama's rhetoric aside, most sober intelligent Americans know he is leading this country to socialist ruin. Before moving to New Mexico, I lived in West Virginia for 18 years and saw first-hand how the Progressives (newspeak for socialism) have progressively destroyed the economy of that state. Those that support his giveaway policies are too ignorant to understand that every benefit carries a cost, and "free" giveaways carry the greatest cost.

In addition to leadership we need well-defined direction:

We need to support the Iranian dissidents and work for regime change there. If successful, Iran will become our greatest ally in that part of the world.

We need to stop enabling an amoral and atheist monster in China which will stab us in the back the first chance they get. Population economics has demonstrated time and again that a nation in China's situation will invade other sovereign nations for the resources it needs. These will be oil-rich nations.

Domestic policy is a no brainer. We have to stop rewarding the lazy, the criminal, and the willingly unproductive as we punish the hardworking, honest, and productive. This is common sense but it needs to be stated loudly and unambiguously. You do this and you will win. You do this and my wife and I will not only support you but actively assist your campaign.

Thank you for your time and for this opportunity to be heard.

Good luck and best wishes, Greg Helbig & Laura Kelly

fuzzyecho January 27, 2010 at 06:25

you know, i've tried to comment on blogs about palin, and i'm never rude. just not uniformly favorable. they never get published. do you really think that just because all you publish is positive comments that everyone in the country agrees?

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 08:14

Fuzzyecho,

This is a privately run blog — as all blogs are. Freedom of the press belongs to the owner of the press. Secondly, as the name implies — US FOR Palin — this is a website established to promote and support Governor Palin (yes, she keeps the title as an honorific, just as Mayor Giuliani does and Presidents Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Bush do), her organizations, and products. This is not a generic news site; it is not a government-run site. So, in the main, yes, comments negative towards Governor Palin are deleted with extreme prejudice, but there are a few exceptions. I publish some negative comments to illustrate a point.

I can no more expect to go to an Obama support site, trash him and promote Governor Palin (or anyone else) there and expect that to go over very well. Same principle applies here. Anyone who loves and supports Obama is free to register a domain, procure hosting and put time, money, and resources into a site, secure authors, etc., etc., etc.. Google and WordPress also provide free accounts. Obama supporters have the same Internet Sarah Palin supporters do. And if one of us come over to such a site to trash him, you have the same freedom — as owner of your press — to strike those comments down as we do. It's really that simple.

Z. Malan January 27, 2010 at 06:39

Good read ! I understand your talking points but Obama is rushing head long to disaster. I wonder if the three years left is enough for him to bankrupt America. I want an answer regarding your support for John McCain. I understand your commitment but Glenn Beck has stated J.M. is a true "progressive" ! Denounce McCain on this issue ; there is no room for this agenda in America ! Either that , or get Glenn Beck to retract his statement !

Ron Devito January 27, 2010 at 08:04

Z. Malan,

Stacy Drake addressed the matter of why Gov. Palin was right to support, endorse, and campaign for John McCain. The distilled version of this is: First, he elevated her to the international stage. While we (Reagan Conservatives) might not agree with many of his political/policy positions, McCain could have easily gone with a "safer" VP running mate. His loss would have also been devastating. Even so, there is a debt of gratitude owed him for the opportunity he gave Gov. Palin and where she is today. Second, his opponent is a far worse choice and would swing AZ left.

Ritch Kelly January 27, 2010 at 06:52

Atlast, a politician who is a real person. Sarah is amazing on many levels, but it is in her passion and patriotism that I hear the voice of common sense. I really believe that our nation will need her skills come next election.
Ronald Reagan looked, sounded and projected leadership. In my opinion, Sarah possess these same traits. Her dynamic appeal is long overdue.
If she runs for President I will support her. If she chooses wisely her VP I will vote for her (Mitt is my choice – but I am openminded).
The most important issue in our country today are jobs, atleast for this unemployed citizen. It is paramount that we all get back to work. Sadly, President Obama just does not know how to do this. His weekly $25 charity gift is not a solution but a reminder to the American people that his administration prefers a bait-and-switch method to problems.
As Sarah Palin states, he is not "listening" to me. I will not support, nor vote, for a politician that looks down on me. However, I will embrace those I look up to for real solutions. Sarah Palin, I believe, can have the whole country looking in 2012.

ralph, obama says "i am going to take care of you, i am going to fundamentally change the u.s. i etc.. only i know how it should be. palin says, "we love this country and we know how to work and prosper and everyone gets their chance to be the best they can be, and we will get govt. off our backs and out of our pockets, and out of the way of prosperity and safety. obama is the chavez of this decade, sarah is the george washington. obama has, does, and will lie at the drop of a hat, and palin is going to tell you what she thinks whether you'll like it or not.
