Sarah Palin Runs Like First Dude at Belmont Stakes

by Missy Stewart on Sunday, June 6, 2010 16:07 EDT

I confess to being somewhat hesitant to continue with Sean O’Shea’s article published at Irish Central about the Palin’s visit at Belmont Stakes upon seeing the words, “… First Dude… pretty much ran like Sarah Palin’s career.”  Hmmm… I hesitated but keep reading thinking I would abandon ship at the first twang of liberal rhetoric.

Finding myself at the end of Mr. O’Shea’s article, I paused and reflected upon his analogy as my mind raced faster than “the sport of kings” about Governor Palin’s winning accomplishments so meticulously presented by Ron Devito here at US for Palin.  Run, Sarah, Run.

A  Tale of Two First Dudes:  First Dude (pictured below with wife Sarah) and  his race horse namesake, First Dude (above).

Sarah Palin Runs Like First Dude at Belmont Stakes

by Sean O’Shea for Irish Central

Sarah Palin was at Belmont Park yesterday for the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown.

The horse she came to follow, First Dude, called after her husband pretty much ran like Sarah Palin’s career.

First Dude came flying out o f the gate like Sarah did after the Republican convention in the summer of 2008.

He pinned back his ears and ran a hole in the wind, on the lead all the way and looked quite likely to take the race as they went down the far side of Big Sandy as Belmont Park is called. Just like Palin, whose place on the McCain presidential ticket proved so popular and meant that they zoomed past Barack Obama in the race for the White House for a brief moment. However, turning into the home stretch First Dude began to tire. His stride shortened and the other horses came at him.

Kind of like Palin who underwent enormous media scrutiny and saw her early advances checked.

By the time they reached the furlong pole First Dude was chopped liver but that did not mean he gave up. He fought on bravely to be third and stayed the course far better than most expected.

Exactly like Palin who was expected to disappear after her ticket got hammered by Obama in the 2008 election. But she hung in there and is now still a prominent runner in the Republican presidential stakes.

Kinda like the horse, she looks likely to stick around for a while.

You betcha.

Above: According to the New York Daily News, the Palins swept into the raceway about 4 p.m., hours later than planned. The couple’s limo driver got lost during the ride from Kennedy Airport, leaving them with no time to stop off at their hotel to change. “We’re excited to be here,” said Sarah Palin, who was decked out in navy capri pants, a white T-shirt and black cap.

Love her! She looks so relaxed and at ease in her casual wear- she’s beautiful no matter what she wears. Star quality inside and out!

Also, not to Palin. White tops require nude bras, not black.

Well, vvvv, since it's a "not" to Palin, I guess your note was not intended for her – which is just as well. Perhaps before you dispense advise to Gov. Palin on her intimate apparel selections, you might want to check your grammar. And, she does not need your advice or anyone else's on the subject. As to your prior comment, which I deleted – Sarah Palin is an accomplished woman, a seasoned executive, and everything about her is real – and spectacular.

Funny, I thought conservatives were supposed to be the sexists around here, but leftists such as yourself have mastered sexism like no neanderthal ever could hope to. You have nothing to say about her many accomplishments, or how this story relates to her life's history. "VVVV" – there is only one boob in this equation: you and people like you.

Missy,

I like the analogy. Sarah day to day, Coast to Coast. As I stated to a reporter when I went to see Sarah speak on 4/14/2010 at the Boston Common, Sarah makes politics fun, because she always looks like she enjoys what she is doing. I'm a little disappointed I didn't go to Belmont. Grew up and saw many great races there. I live one hour away. Pictures were awesome, was Ron Devito there? I' a member of Team Sarah.

PS: They are the most beautiful couple.

Dennis,

I was not there. I found out she was there a day later. Surprise visit. Good to see you here.
