First, we decimated their population with imported European diseases. Millions of them died from disease and Spanish enslavement and atrocities. Then we traded them trinkets for their land or outright took their lands from them. More than 4000 died on the Trail of Tears as soldiers herded them 1200 miles to Oklahoma because of our lust for gold. The Native Americans were here for thousands of years before we came, and if anyone had rights to the land, it was they. I would like to see one elected offical to have the guts to stand up and say this is not right. We have tribes that are soverign nations they do not pay taxes but receive money from the tax payer. We are all emigants to this country. You folks have the country listening to you. Stand up and ask the questions regarding land and water for all of the people. Thank you!
