Todd Palin on Greta: Gingrich Best to Win Against Obama

“Newt Gingrich is the best conservative who can win against Obama. Newt is a proven reformer and is not afraid to fight for the working man,” Todd Palin said tonight in a telephone interview with Greta Van Susteren from his home in Wasilla, Alaska. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has not yet endorsed a candidate and did not participate in the interview.

In the final hours prior to his endorsement, Todd Palin spoke first to members of Newt Gingrich’s campaign staff, then to Newt Gingrich himself. “I appreciated how he got his polling numbers up the old fashioned way with brain-power and perseverance,” Palin said.

Van Susteren told him that she had heard Gov. Palin say that Mitt Romney was the weakest candidate the Republicans could nominate to take on Obama. “I’m not sure Sarah said ‘Mitt is the weakest candidate,’” he responded. When asked if Gov. Palin was going to endorse a candidate, Todd Palin said, “I am not going to speak for her. You will need to ask her, but at least one Palin has endorsed Newt.”

Van Susteren closed the interview by asking Todd Palin if he “misses the race or is content to sit on the sidelines.”

“It’s been an amazing process to watch. I’m glad she decided to sit this one out,” Todd Palin said.

This does not pass the smell test…20 years together…thru thick and thin…4 years in a war for the ages…and Todd comes out by himself and endorses Newt ????…last thing on my mind…WHY is the Palin talking points start off with Erkel having $$$$ 1 billion and the media (which he has had for the past 4 years) didn't he spend over $$$ 7 million and LIED from start to finish about his HOPEEEEE & CHANGEEEEE, just to have Hillary take him down to the wire
AMERICA NEEDS SOMEONE TO TELL THEM THE " TRUTH " and nothing put the TRUTH from this point foward…Every American know's what is wrong…WE NEED someone who will tell them…HOW TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE DITCH…BACK ON THE HIGHWAY TO SUCCESS
I've watched just about all of the debates ( does anyone worry about contraceptives ) tell me about restoring my independence…tell me what I want to hear…NOT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE OTHER GUY…these candidates are fighting like DRUNKS…somebody " SHOW-UP WITH A SET OF COJONE'S "

Put that moose chile on simmer…Sarah Palin…GET BACK IN THE GAME !!!!!

JerseyFlash,

I can't speak as to why Todd Palin endorsed Newt Gingrich, nor can I comment on the level of his wife's involvement – or lack thereof with his endorsement – because: 1. I have no inside information. 2. I was not present in the room when the decision was made. You and I know the same thing: She has decided not to run. We have a certain field of candidates left from which to choose one. I've certainly railed about them and 58% of the Republican base – see the C4P article on what America fears most – is not happy with this field of candidates. All we can do at this point is pick one and vote in the primaries as they come up for our states. The decision to get in or not is Gov. Palin's and there is no indication on her part that she intends to get in.
